In aid of Make-A-Wish Foundation® UK, the event came to a head this week when Andrea Coulter from Beechwood Crescent, was top of the leader board. The 23 year old beat more than 150 contenders in a closely fought contest with an impressive score of 673.

Raising almost £200 for Make-A-Wish, the Nintendo WII bowling competition was a great success.

Cash Generator’s charity champion at the store in Wishaw, Aileen Gillick, comments: “The WII bowling competition proved a great success and we were really pleased that we raised nearly £200 for Make-A-Wish. It was hugely popular with shoppers and members of the store team and Andrea was a deserving winner.

“This is just one of the fundraising efforts we have planned for the year. We are a family run store and, as such, appreciate the importance of a happy family life. Any way in which we can make the life of a child better, even for as little as one day, is worth the effort by the team in store.”

Walking away with a games console and a number of games, Andrea says: “The Nintendo WII competition was great fun and an innovative way to raise money. It created a little bit of friendly rivalry and I am delighted to have come out top of the league.”

Rebecca Jones, Corporate Account Manager at Make-A-Wish, says: “We are delighted with the team at Cash Generator in Wishaw for hosting a fantastic day. The money raised will help us to grant even more wishes in 2010”

The WII bowling competition is the first of a number of initiatives planned by the Cash Generator in Wishaw throughout 2010, as it joins other Cash Generator stores nationwide to help raise over £100,000 for Make-A-Wish.

Make-A-Wish Foundation® UK has a very simple objective – to grant magical wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening illness. The charity was founded in the UK in 1986 and since then has granted over 5800 wishes.
