For the period 1 February 2009 to 31 January 2010, Cash Generator reported strong growth across all key income streams contributing to a like for like increase in gross profits of 9.5%. Overall gross profits rose by 26.5% to £30.1 million.
Total group retail sales rose by 34.7% to £73.6 million with the buying of pre-owned items from the public up by 44.2%. The many financial services offered also contributed to the company’s performance during 2009, with cheque cashing increasing by 4.9%.
With 27 new stores opened during 2009, which more than doubled the previous record of 13 stores in a single year, expansion continues with another 20 store locations set to open in 2010, the parent company is now interested in the possibility of selectively developing new international markets within the wider European community.
Whilst initial research has indicated that Cash Generator is currently most viable in Holland, France, Spain and Germany, consideration would be given to other prospective countries.
In those European markets selected for development, Cash Generator will transfer full market exclusivity to a candidate able to demonstrate an exceptional history of commercial success, an impeccable understanding of their country¹s target market and substantial financial resources. Given the size and potential value of the Cash Generator Master Franchisee license, applicants with less than GBP 500,000 too invest are likely to be unsuccessful.
The Master Franchisee is permitted to build stores, sub-franchise and operate the supporting distribution system. In exchange for these rights, the Master Franchisee is responsible for meeting agreed financial and growth targets, royalty payments and maintaining Cash Generator¹s operating standards.
